美参议员沃伦致信扎克伯格要求 Meta 披露最新稳定币计划细节
ChainCatcher 消息，美国参议员 Elizabeth Warren 致信 Mark Zuckerberg，要求 Meta 就其最新稳定币计划提供更多信息，并批评公司在相关业务上的“缺乏透明度令人担忧”。
Elizabeth Warren 在信中表示，考虑到 Meta 庞大的全球用户规模，其任何稳定币相关业务都可能对市场竞争、用户隐私、支付系统完整性及金融稳定产生重大影响。此前披露的信息显示，Facebook 已在哥伦比亚和菲律宾针对部分创作者测试稳定币支付功能，相关方案基于 USD Coin（USDC），用户需绑定第三方加密钱包地址。Meta 发言人回应称，公司“并不存在 Meta 稳定币”，目前仅希望用户与商家能够在平台中使用包括第三方稳定币在内的多种支付方式。值得注意的是，Meta 曾于 2019 年推出稳定币项目 Libra（后更名为 Diem），但最终因监管压力于 2022 年终止。Warren 长期以来一直是美国国会最强硬的加密货币批评者之一，并多次对 Meta 的稳定币计划提出质疑。
