她指出，虽然欧元稳定币可能降低欧元区融资成本并提升欧元的全球吸引力，但代价巨大，且超过短期收益。拉加德强调，如果要增强欧元的国际吸引力，稳定币并非有效途径。拉加德提到了欧洲央行 3 月的一份工作论文，该论文警告称稳定币的广泛采用将对欧元区银行和货币主权构成重大风险。她表示欧洲的任务不是“复制其他地方开发的工具”，并继续推进数字欧元的引入。
